Kara Krista

All levels Vinyasa Wednesday 9.15am, Restorative Yoga & Meditation Sunday 4.15pm

Karakrista is a passionate and widely experienced holistic practitioner and teacher who loves to help others to experience a life of JOY.

She has always loved being ‘physical’ doing Olympic gymnastics in her teens and aerobics, triathlon and marathon running in her 20’s and 30’s but it was following her experience of episodes of depression in her early adult life, that she really dedicated herself to health and wellbeing in every sense of the word : from physical fitness and nutrition to psychology and spiritual practice. Over the last 3 decades she has gained qualifications in and practices as a Physiotherapist, Holistic Counsellor,  Yoga and Meditation teacher, has taught Raw Food Education Classes and promotes a largely plant-powered, wholefoods and raw food diet.

Karakrista’s path to yoga was a natural progression after 10 years of teaching postural alignment classes and meditation,  completing the Level I & II teacher training with Being Yoga on the Sunshine Coast in 2007.  Yoga has become one of her greatest loves because it touches all of us from the physical to the spiritual and has the potential to transform and heal every aspect of our being.

Being steeped in the practice of meditation and an understanding of our psychological and emotional nature, Karakrista teaches with a meditative approach encouraging a high level of self-awareness, breath awareness and mindful and purposeful movement, dancing between the edges of effort and letting go, grounding and expansion, deep peace and JOYful aliveness. The physical benefits of strength, flexibility and inner health flow on from this platform of being fully present and fully aware of our whole being in body, mind and spirit.

Karakrista welcomes beginners or advanced students offering modifications in a safe environment to suit all practices.

Karakrista also offers workshops and courses in The JOYQ Way, an 8 step path involving meditation practices to create peace of mind and transform painful emotions to ease and JOY.
