Join Marisa for 3 Yoga Nidra & sound healing sessions
Following on from Marisa’s last sessions which focused on breath based meditation and visualisation, this time the offering is Yoga Nidra and sound healing. Both deeply restorative healing meditations.
Over three sessions we will explore and experience the benefits of Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep. One hour of Yoga Nidra is equal to approximately 4 hours of sleep. Yoga Nidra works by taking you into an Alpha or Theta State of pure rest.
In Yoga Nidra we use techniques such as rotation of consciousness, visualization, counting the breath and creating a sankalpa or intention to experience deeper states of relaxation. Yoga Nidra is conducted lying down with eyes closed and is a wonderful restorative practise and when combined with sound healing instruments of tibetan bowls and crystal bowls can be healing to the body and mind. It is also beneficial for memory and learning new things.
When: Saturday March 7th, 14th & 21st
Time: 4.15pm (for 4.30pm start) to 5.30pm
Suitable for all levels. Marisa is studying Meditation Teacher Training. Part of her course requirements is to conduct three practicum meditation sessions. There is a $5 contribution request.

About Marisa
I’m studying meditation and yoga Nidra teacher training through a yoga school in Brisbane. I grew up in Doonan, and after studying, travelling and living in different parts of Australia and the world, I returned back to Noosa in 2015 to recovering from injury and illness. My great love is music and I have been a musician, violinist, singer and performer, published poet and artist for 30 years.
I have a Diploma in Sound Healing and want to combine meditation and Yoga Nidra with sound healing. I’m a regular at Kara Krista’s yoga classes at Yoga Circle and it is my joy to share and cultivate peaceful, mindful and nourishing practices and ways of being.
