The YogaPhysio class specifically grounds you in the sophisticated art of Centering and Posture.
Join Karakrista, Physiotherapist and yoga teacher for a highly supervised and effective class on the development of core strength, postural alignment and the integrity of your spine. We’ll explore the subtle bandhas that support our structural integrity, core training, spinal mobility and overall functional strength.
Suitable for all yoga students and those with no experience, this class is the perfect platform to increase your understanding of your body, protect yourself from injury, enhance your yoga practice or sporting performance, transform persistent, mild, chronic injuries* and discomfort and improve the quality of your everyday life by an expansion in your functional, holistic capacity for life.
Centering is a practice like yoga itself, you never really arrive at a destination because it involves the complex synergy of the whole body. To be Centered harnesses aspects of body alignment, coordination of the deep core muscles, a balance of flexibility in the spine (of flexion, extension, rotation and side flexion) and the development of a healthy resting tone throughout the entire myofascial network.
When this healthy tone is achieved it supports an intrinsically relaxed, strong and balanced body posture, aligned with gravity and the natural design and function of the body.
No extra charge for this class – it’s the same as all other classes on the timetable and you can use your class pass. No need to book ahead.
* if you’re in pain or have an injury please contact Karakrista prior to the class to discuss your condition and determine whether the class is suitable for you. Acute injuries are best treated and managed in individual sessions.
