Restorative Yoga & Meditation

Sunday 4.15pm

Sometimes you’ve just got to slow everything right down.

When your life is racing full-speed ahead, so is your mind. Restorative Yoga helps provide that physical and mental balance to prevent stress and anxiety. This is a floor-based class, beginning with a series of gentle warm-up sequences before progressing to longer held poses.

The use of props allows you to hold poses longer, giving you all the benefits of deep, passive stretching. This session concludes with guided Savasana (Rest Pose) and a short meditation.

No previous yoga experience is required.  All welcome.

“The antidote to stress is relaxation.  To relax is to rest deeply. This rest is completely different form sleep.  Deep states if sleep include periods of dreaming, which increase muscular tension, as well as other physiological signs of tension.  Relaxation is a state in which there is no movement, no effort, and the brain is quiet.  Restorative yoga poses are often referred to as active relaxation.  By supporting the body with various props, the student can alternately stimulate and relax the body towards balance.” ~ Judith Lasater, PH.D, P.T.
