Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is an ancient and transformative style of yoga. It uses powerful breath, movement and sound designed to strengthen and harmonise body, mind and spirit. Known as the ‘yoga of awareness’, it awakens your creative, intuitive and spiritual potential so that you embrace life full of confidence.
Kundalini Yoga is for everyone and is based on a set of exercises that is designed specifically to target certain areas of your body in order to strengthen them and help release toxins. Each Kundalini yoga class is unique. First we tune in using a centering technique to call upon our inner guidance. Then we warm up and stretch out our bodies using movement and strong breathing.
The practice consists of a series of active and passive asanas (positions), pranayama (breath exercises) and meditations that shift and clear energy channels in the body. This brings about a greater sense of awareness, well-being, relaxation and happiness – our natural birth right as humans.
The word ‘kundalini’ refers to our potential. The practice of Kundalini Yoga strengthens the realisation that our true strength comes from within and it deepens and expands our awareness on all levels so that we may awaken our full potential and grace.
